Bike Trails & Cycle Tours

Bike Hire

If you want a relaxing day out in the Barossa, may we suggest there is no better way to explore the region than by bike.

The bike trail (40 kilometers of sealed bike network extending through Angaston to Gawler via the four main townships of Nuriootpa, Angaston, Tanunda and Lyndoch) is ideal for intimately exploring the natural beauty of our magnificent region at your own pace. Travel as little or as much of the path as you like in either direction, enjoying stunning views, attractions and generous Barossa hospitality every step of the way.

Biking around the Barossa is generally easy on flat, cruisy bike paths that take you between towns and cellar doors.

Barossa Bike Hire have a selection of quality bikes for hire. Call Louis on +61 (0)400 537 770. He will happily deliver your bicycle to The Paddocks.

Itinerary

A 19 km guided cycle tour through the fertile terrain of the picturesque, northern end of the Barossa Valley.

Your tour begins with a short ride to a local artisan coffee roaster. Here, a shot of freshly ground beans will sharpen your senses and heighten your enthusiasm before riding to discover the historic village of Light Pass.

Your first wine tasting for the day is a highly acclaimed family owned vineyard and cellar door, renowned for their iconic wines.

Further north, relax for lunch at an original settlers’ cottage, home to a rustic, mud rendered cellar door with tastings of handcrafted wines.

After lunch, you’ll ride through sections of privately owned vineyards and bike trails along the gentle curves of the majestic gum lined North Para River, arriving at the historic single vineyard of an exceptional sixth generation Barossa winegrower.

The day doesn’t end here.

From this vineyard, enjoy a ride to a heritage house for an afternoon espresso and gourmet cake.

You’ll then eventually wheel down to an all Australian craft beer tap house and wine bar, where you can choose to end your tour with a cold cleansing ale, reflecting on the hidden treasures you’ve discovered.
